Kids Summer Reading 2020!
Imagine your Story! We will have summer reading this year, and it will look a little different. It will primarily be online, using Beanstack. You'll track your reading and participate in other challenges to complete the program. Then you'll call the library to schedule a pickup time to receive your prizes. We will not have any live performances at the library this year as we cannot have large gatherings. Please stay tuned for more information-- Summer reading starts June 15th! Otherwise, dust off your login for Beanstack online, and reset that password to prepare. After June 15th, use these directions to help you.
Once you get into Beanstack, you'll see a variety of badges, or activities to choose from. Kids can complete the twelve hours of reading, as before, or combine reading with other literacy activities to earn prizes. Once you've earned 10 badges, (including registration and completion), you get your prize! You can do any combination of reading and activities to achieve 10 badges. We are also working on a way that kids can pick up physical summer reading packets with reading log and stickers from the library. A physical reading log is not necessary, and you can also do your reading tracking online. Kids will receive at least 2 free books for completing the program!
In addition, Grub Club will be providing sack lunches for kids ages 1- 18 during the summer. From June 15 to August 14, sack lunches will be handed out outside the library doors from 11:45am to 12:15pm. The building will not be open, and we ask you to take your lunch elsewhere to eat it.
