Adult Summer Reading 2017

Sign up for Adult Summer Reading at any library branch beginning June 12th, 2017.  Read 8 books to fill our your reading log and get a bookstore coupon!  Or fill out a bingo card or book review for more summer reading fun.  Grand prize is a $100 Fred Meyer gift card!  Pick up your summer reading packet at any branch or print an extra reading log here.

  • Friday, June 2, 3:00pm:  Learn to make cheese with Claudio Lucero!  Registration required, limited to 15 participants.
  • Friday, July 7, 2:30pm:  Sculpture with found objects!  Registration required, limited to 15 participants.
  • Monday, July 10, 2:30pm:  Making Monsters craft class!  Registration required, limited to 15 participants.
  • Mondays and Fridays, July 10 - August 4, 12:30 - 1:30pm:  Tai Chi for balance with Linda Werner.  Class will meet 8 times.  Registration required, limited to 25 participants.
  • Friday, July 14, 2:30pm: Yarn Mandalas craft class. Registration required, limited to 15 participants. (Cancelled due to illness.)
  • Monday, July 17, 2:30pm: Funky felt hats craft class.  Registration required, limited to 15 participants.

  • Friday, July 28, 1:00pm: Calvin Tibbets: Oregon's first pioneer history presentation by Jerry Sutherland.
  • Monday, July 31, 2:30pm:  Salt Silk Dyeing craft class. Registration required, limited to 15 participants.
  • Friday August 4, 2:30pm:  Salt Silk Dyeing craft class.  Registration required, limited to 15 participants.
  • Saturday, August 19, 2:00pm:  Action this Day: A one act play about Eisenhower and Churchill.
  • Wednesday and Thursday, August 2 - 3, 6-8:30pm and Friday, August 4, 12pm to 5pm.  Western Red Cedar and Sweetgrass basket weaving with Stephanie Wood.  Registration required, limited to 15 participants.  Class will meet three times.
  • Thursday, August 31, 1:00pm: Mushroom Identification class with Fort Stevens ranger Dane Osis.

Learn about Calvin Tibbets, Oregon's first pioneer, with author Jerry Sutherland. Learn about this history including links to Elbridge Trask on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 1pm in the community rooms at the Tillamook Library.

Mushroom Identification with Dane Osis Just in time for Fall, we'll have Fort Stevens State Park Ranger Dane Osis with us to help us find and identify the edible mushrooms that grow wild in the Pacific Northwest. All are welcome to this presentation on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 1pm in the Tillamook Library Community Rooms.
