Neskowin Emergency Egress on Hawk Street
The Neskowin Emergency Egress Route is complete and provides a secondary route out of the Neskowin Village when the primary route is unavailable. The finished project removed a tide gate & failing culverts and added two bridges, a large box culvert, improvements to the wayside as well as sheet piles – all within a thousand feet of road. The total project cost from inception to completion is estimated at just over $2.7 million and received funding from over 15 different sources, including funds received from Oregon Lottery through OBDD (Business Oregon). This complex site required a permit package that exceeded 200 pages which was approved by numerous agencies.
